Sublime play show with new singer

Legendary ska-punk/alt-rock act Sublime played a reunion set of sorts this past weekend in Sparks, NV.

Del Mar, a punk act featuring former Sublime drummer Bud Gaugh, had just finished their set at the Cantina Los Tres Hombres restaurant. Gaugh was then joined by Sublime bassist Eric Wilson and a lead vocalist/guitarist by the name of Rome, playing a set that included hits like "Wrong Way," "What I Got" and "Santeria."

"Sublime doesn't have any firm tour plans or anything YET, but we'll keep you posted on their progress," Del Mar later wrote on their MySpace page.

Sublime originally achieved massive mainstream success in the early-to-mid-`90s and went onto sell over 17 million albums worldwide. Members later went onto form the Long Beach Dub Allstars.

I never use this term but this is the definition of selling out. Brad is dead, and I hate to say, but he was the mastermind of the band. He was to Sublime what Cobain was to Nirvana, without him there is no band. This disgusts me to no end. A cover set is one thing after the set from another band, but to tour as Sublime missing a key member is just...offensive. You don't see Paul and Ringo playing as the Beatles do you? They may play Beatles songs but they don't use the name.

Sublime was Brad. When Brad died Sublime died with him.
