Deftones to perform benefit shows for Chi Cheng

Deftones will play two benefit shows at the Avalon in Hollywood this week raise money for their bassist Chi Cheng, who is still in a semi-conscious state after a serious car accident in Nov. 2008. The concerts will take place Nov. 19 and 20, and all proceeds will benefit the Chi Ling Cheng Special Needs Trust. An online auction has also been established through Charity Buzz as a way to donate. The auction begins Nov. 17. Check the Deftones site for more information.

Fall Out Boy reportedly "taking a break"

According to a series of tweets by Fall Out Boy drummer Andy Hurley, FOB are "taking a break." Hurley originally posted that the band are on hiatus, but after countless distressed replies from fans, he went on to clarify: "everyone, when i said fob was on hiatus, i didnt mean hiatus. i meant break. which is what i understood hiatus to mean."

Hurley went on to say that he'll be focusing on his hardcore band, Burning Empires, while the members of FOB are on a break. " i know we will come back sooner than later. im just staying busy on the break."

Fall Out Boy are set to release their greatest hits compilation, Believers Never Die, this week.

Gallows drop off remainder of AFI tour; Dave Hause, Jonny Craig added

UPDATE: Due to illness, U.K. hardcore act Gallows have been forced to drop off the remainder of their current tour with AFI. Filling in for these tonight at the House Of Blues in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, and tomorrow night at the Tabernacle in Atlanta, Georgia, will be Dave Hause, frontman of Philadelphia punk band the Loved Ones. Nov. 19 in Orlando will see Emarosa frontman Jonny Craig opening. There is currently no word on who, if anyone, will take Gallows' spot in Ft. Lauderdale, Houston or Austin. AFI's tour itinerary is below:

November 15 North Myrtle Beach, SC House of Blues w/Dave Hause
November 16 Atlanta, GA Tabernacle w/Dave Hause

Metro Station keyboardist quits

Even though the band are in the midst of an arena tour opening for Miley Cyrus (dates), word has surfaced that Metro Station keyboardist Blake Healy has parted ways with the group. Healy tweets:

"The rumors are true. I'm not in Metro Station anymore."

The band are currently scheduled to perform in Cleveland, Ohio, tonight; there is no word on who will be filling in for Healy, if anyone.

We Shot The Moon in van accident; all members okay

Piano-pop group We Shot The Moon were in a van accident earlier today driving from Salt Lake City to Pocatello, Idaho. The band's new bassist, Dylan Rowe, tweeted the following about the incident:

"Our van just flipped on dry ice. everyone is ok. Feel like i maybe should be dead right now."

The band have uploaded a picture and a video of th wreckage; you can see all of that below. The band's remaining tourdates are also below, although it's not yet clear if they will be able to continue on the road:

Not to be outdone by their current tourmates, fellow Fall Ball co-headiners Mayday Parade have scheduled a stretch of headlining shows to commence after Thanksgiving.
