Aiden postpone European tour, plan studio album

Earlier in the month, Saosin announced that they wouldn't be able to play the shows they had booked in Europe and the U.K. this spring with Aiden, and now Aiden have decided that they will have to reschedule their trip abroad until December.

Both bands cited a shift in the music business and the reality that the economy and a struggling record industry are changing the ways that bands operate. On March 6, Chris Sorenson of Saosin blogged about the band's decision to pull out of their tour saying in part, "Its just not the right time for us to be over there. I wish I had some elaborate story about members losing limbs while shark diving, but the truth of the matter is, we didn't get a record released In the UK and europe was a lackluster one at best. This is the reality of the times I suppose, downloading, bad business models, and the economy etc. Its all too blame, but the bottom line is, it costs a lot to tour, esepecially overseas, and its never been more important then now, to make sure as a band, that we are touring intelligently and not just because."

Although Aiden originally said they would continue with the tour, frontman Wil Francis wrote a statement saying, "I guess I jumped the gun. Once Saosin pulled out of the tour a few of the promoters weren't to keen on having to pull the tickets in, refund them all, then issue new ones. That coupled with some of the shows having to change venues and us trying to find a new mode of transportation, the logistics of trying to pull all of this off in 3 weeks is nearly impossible." He also went onto say, "I know it's hard for everyone out there right now. The economy has everything twisted in knots. It's very hard to be in a band (Unless you're Metallica) and provide for a family at the same time. Believe me, all we want to do is come to your town and rock, and that is what we will do."

Instead, Aiden will focus work on a new studio album to follow-up 2009's Knives.

There For Tomorrow added to Orlando stop of 2010 AP Tour

Green Day announce summer tour with AFI

Green Day have revealed that they will embark on a headlining summer tour at the beginning of August. AFI will provide support. The only date revealed so far is for the first show on Aug. 3 at Susquehanna Bank Center in Camden, New Jersey. We'll let you know all of the dates as soon as their released. Green Day will be in support of their latest full-length, 21st Century Breakdown.

We The Kings added to New Haven stop of 2010 AP Tour

Red Cross, Vans offer amazing prize pack at our 100 Bands showcase

AP and Vans have teamed up with the Red Cross of Central Texas to help raise money at our 100 Bands You Need To Know showcase on March 20 at Emo's in Austin, Texas. Volunteers from the Red Cross and AP's Austin street team will be collecting donations and each dollar you donate nets you a raffle ticket.

One grand prize winner will receive a poster from the showcase autographed by each of the performing bands and a new wardrobe from Vans including shoes, jeans and more. Two runners-up will receive an unsigned show poster and a pair of Vans shoes.

Remember, the more you donate, the better chances you have of winning!
